An Endeavor for Earth's Salvage
Dera Sacha Sauda targets to plant 70 lac saplings on the occasion of the Incarnation Day of Revered Saint Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji Insan.
With the aim to propagate environment awareness against pollution and global warming as well as to make an effort to curb it, the social and spiritual organization
Dera Sacha Sauda based in Sirsa, Haryana (India) has been consistently exerting rigorous effort from the last 4 years to plant trees across the globe with the help of its millions volunteers spread throughout India and abroad.
Revered Guru Ji of Dera Sacha Sauda,
Saint Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji Insan always encourages activities which aim towards prosperity of humanity and nature. Rapidly increasing deforestation and an increase in global warming has urged Guru Ji to take an action and He thus launched a
Mega Tree Plantation Drive at a mass level with the aim of awakening mankind to realize its duty towards nature. For this reason, this welfare activity is called "
Nature Campaign" by Revered Guru Ji. His vision behind this drive is to create a green earth for the present and future generations so that they can enjoy a healthy and pollution-free life.
Revered
Saint Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji Insan initiated the first Mega Tree Plantation Drive under the Nature Campaign on
15th August 2009 to celebrate both, His birthday and India's
Independence Day by planting as many trees as possible.
Ever since, every year, the 15th of August is celebrated as a Tree Plantation Day by the
Dera Sacha Sauda followers across the globe. It is inaugurated by Revered Guru Ji in Sirsa following which Dera Sacha Sauda volunteers and members of
Shah Satnam Ji Green 'S' Welfare Force Wing across several nations, plant saplings simultaneously within a stipulated time frame. This exhibits incredible unity and team spirit towards humanity, and it is ensured that this is done in multiple geographic localities.
It is important to note that this drive isn't limited to a city or state but spread across several states of India and other foreign nations.
In this campaign, the
5th Mega Tree Plantation Campaign will be organized this year on
15th August 2013 in which Dera Sacha Sauda targets to plant about
7 million plants across the planet. It should be noted that Dera Sacha Sauda created a
Guinness World Record in its very first plantation drive by planting
6,873,452 saplings, which took place on
15th August 2009. This was done in over
8 hours divided between
169,920 volunteers across 367 geographic locations.
A new record was set in the
year 2011 for planting
1,945,535 saplings simultaneously in just
one hour by 340,250 volunteers across
408 locations spread throughout the world. And by the grace and directions of His Holiness, this figure jumped to
2,039,747 saplings on
15th August 2012.
The purpose of this drive is not limited to merely plant saplings but also to nurture them like our very own children by providing adequate water and manure until they blossom into adult trees, being capable of self-sustenance.
The successful execution of these drives is reflected in the accolades and appreciation
Dera Sacha Sauda has received from several national and international authorities for its overwhelming effort towards sustaining nature.
This extraordinary participation of
Dera Sacha Sauda volunteers and their immense efforts for this cause can be easily demonstrated from the figures of the last four years of Tree Plantation drives held across the world.
