Flood Relief in Bihar by Shah Satnam Ji Green 'S' Welfare Force Wing

The sorrow of Bihar, the river Kosi is known to breach its antiquated barrage every year when the river is in spate. Several times relief material has been sent to Bihar to the affected districts. In the year 2004, in Darbhanga district, in Bahari block, 400 villages had been affected which were served the relief materials. There were nearly 30 truckloads that were sent by Dera Sacha Sauda , Sirsa(Haryana) to Bihar. Therefore, whether it is ordinary circumstances or extra ordinary events, Guruji is forever ready to help people economically, socially and ensure their sustenance as fellow human beings. In the year 2008, after about a decade, deadly floods again descended upon Bihar. The river Kosi submerged 17 districts and over2.5 million people were affected by the floods. Property worth millions was swept away and this tragedy inflicted wounds that would not heal for decades to come. Over 200 peoples lost their lives. The areas of Supaul, Madhepura, Bhagalpur, Araria and Western Champaran were the most affected. People surrounded by the waters that would not recede were forced to eat raw rice and raw wheat flour. Hunger and disease were paramount and all pervasive. People were already troubled by poverty. In the beginning of September the volunteers of the Shah Satnam Ji Green 'S' Welfare Force Wing surveyed Bihar. The 15 member's survey team toured the worst affected areas of Madhepura, Saharsa and Supaul and decided the stations for relief distribution. The Government had chipped in with eatables but medicines, clothes, utensils and tarpaulins were surely required. It was quickly decided to supply the specific requirements and the survey team returned to Sirsa.

Saint Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji Insan flagged off a relief contingent with 100 volunteers of Shah Satnam Ji Green 'S' Welfare Force Wing on 13th September 2008 with 9 truckloads of aid material. The administration was finding it impossible to penetrate the affected areas. But the Shah Satnam Ji Green 'S' Welfare Force Wing managed to reach the area and disburse assistance to over twenty thousand families. This included rations, clothes and medicines. In Saharsa and Madhepura in particular, several villages were in a precarious state. The volunteers based the main relief depot at Baidyanathpur, 8 kilometers proximate to Saharsa. The relief distribution was managed from there. In the inaccessible tehsils of Saharsa, Sangheswar, Patarghat, Haripura and Madhepura district, the aid was ferried by boats. Unmindful of the hazards and difficulties, the Shah Satnam Ji Green 'S' Welfare Force Wing made it a point to reach the earmarked places. It was a tough job, but the volunteers never looked for an easy way out. People were shifted to safer areas. The discipline in relief distribution and the equitable rationing was also appreciated by the victims and the administration alike. They were joined by 40 local Dera Sacha Sauda members and 10 members from Nepal. The material amount roughly 50 kilograms per family. The volunteers remained untouched by adulation; they worked with the name of God on their lips. Tiny instruments of the great unseen that is all they ever wish to be.
