A multi-storeyed residential building collapsed in the Indian capital (Inderlok) on Saturday. At least 10 people including 2 children are dead while several others are still trapped under the debris. 11 people have been rescued so far.
Two injured persons, who were rescued from under the debris, are recuperating in the hospital. NDMC PRO Yogendra Singh Mann said, an inquiry has been ordered into the incident in Inderlok area.
Motivated by Revered Saint Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji Insan's teachings, the activists of Shah Satnam Ji Green 'S' Welfare Force Wing rushed to the spot for rescue operations as they got a call about the building collapses in Inderlok at Tulsi Nagar . The incident took place in a congested locality. Those pulled out of the debris were rushed to Bara Hindu Rao hospital and Acharya Bhikshu Hospital. The Wing is conducted rescue work passionately and saved many lives. Rescuers would take some more time to clear the rubble of the toppled four-story 50-year-old structure after a day-long effort.
Naresh Insan (youth 25 members, Kanjhawla Block), Anil Insan, Mukesh Insan and Sanjeev Insan (seven members), Kaminder Insan, Rohit Insan (responsible persons of Shah Satnam Ji Green 'S' Welfare force Wing), Bhola Insan (Block Bhangidas), Sohanpal Insan, Gaurav Insan, (Editors, Rohtash Nagar), Kishan Insan, Tarsem Insan, Kuldeep Insan, Karatar Insan, and Subhash Insan (seven members, Nangloi), Raju Insan, Vijay Insan, Bhishm Insan (Volunteers of Green 'S' Force) and scores of other Dera Sacha Sauda volunteers volunteered in this noble cause of rescue operation.
As per the sources, the four-storey building built on a plinth area of 25 square yards was 50-year old and the owner of this building was Abdul Wahid alias Raju. Embroidery factory was running on the ground floor of the said building. Upper floors were being used as store room and residence. Abdul Wajid, his brother and many labourers were the inhabitants of this building. Shaheen (26), Aadil (3), Shabir (1) and many others are declared brought dead. 20 ambulance and several fire tenders were there for the rescue works. Officials from Police and Corporation arrived there to assess and ascertain the rescue works being done.
North Delhi Mayor Yogender Chandolia reached the spot and said, "I believe such incidents are taking place also due to unauthorized constructions. He assured guilty officials will be punished" NDMC officials suspect the horrendous collapse was triggered by the construction activity in the adjacent plot. After investigation, further actions will be taken.
