Dera Sacha Sauda has been donating blood regularly for Thalassemia patients and for the Indian Army, every month to meet their needs of blood. As children with Thalassemia depend on blood transfusions to survive and thrive, needed every three weeks. This makes it a challenge to arrange for blood for such patients. Guruji, Saint Dr Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji Insan, has been an advocating regular donation of blood for these patients. The volunteers here at Dera Sacha Sauda, make sure that they donate blood every three months to make up for this demand and in the critical times of coronavirus pandemic, it is all the more important that they do so. One does not have to have a medical degree to save a life - just a fair degree of humanity. Anyone with a loving heart can do it. Anyone wanting to make a difference can do it. And most of all, the ones who know the value of a pint of blood will definitely do it. Imagine a person running from pillar to post to arrange for blood for a loved one, worse so, in pandemic times. Donating blood is indeed the need of the hour. As hospitals and blood banks around the nation run dry, and it is only us fellow beings that they can turn to. With most of the population confined to homes, the ones who are healthy and can donate blood, should head in direction of a collection centre right away. For who knows, when that precious gift is needed and if you can make it in time for somebody, you are sure to please Almighty with your one deed, apart from saving multiple lives.
In fact, that's the very reason Guruji has always advocated donating blood every three months. You can be an angel in someone's life and what's more, you can do yourself a favour too. Donating Blood also helps the donor, by regenerating a fresh supply of blood in a matter of 24 hours. Keeps you guarded against many infections and diseases too. This is the very reason why a DSS volunteer seizes every opportunity to donate blood without hesitation.
More than 5 lac Dera Sacha Sauda followers have been volunteering whenever it comes to serving humanity, & on this World Thalassemia Day, by donating thousands of units of blood, they have proved it yet again that humanity is above all. This blood will save the lives irrespective of religion, as it is this same blood that flows through every vein.
So don't wait, donate now, is the message these volunteers are sending to the world. So far, Dera Sacha Sauda has five world records in Blood donation to its credit, including 3 Guinness records, 1 Limca, and an Asia record.
Five lakh 32 thousand 321 units of blood have been donated so far by organizing more than 155 blood donation campaigns. These numbers are phenomenal and the reason why records have been made. Dera Sacha Sauda does make world records or the volunteers do not donate to fetch world records for vanity and pride, all they care about is human lives. The world records get created in the process of collecting innumerable units of blood. As Guruji Saint Dr Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji Insan says, why don't others challenge us and break our world record? This competitive spirit will only benefit humanity the most. Let's try and break each other's records in humanitarian endeavours, leaving selfish matters aside.
