MSG Mahotsav Bhandara Month: Celebrating a Legacy of Divine Benevolence
Some divine arrivals do not merely mark a moment in history; they illuminate the path of humanity for generations.
A month dedicated to spiritual devotion, gratitude and the timeless message of humanity begins today, celebrating the 135th Incarnation Day of Shah Mastana Ji Maharaj.
Some occasions transcend the boundaries of time. They are not merely celebrations of the past; they are reminders of a divine legacy that continues to inspire generations. The MSG Mahotsav Bhandara Month is one such occasion, a month of spiritual devotion, gratitude and renewed commitment to the path of humanity.
Beginning on 1 November, the month-long celebrations mark the 135th Incarnation Day of Sai Shah Mastana Ji Maharaj, the founding Spiritual Master of Dera Sacha Sauda. His Holiness’s divine advent laid the foundation of an enduring mission rooted in truth, compassion, brotherhood and selfless service.
A Divine Advent That Changed Countless Lives
A divine legacy is not measured by the passage of time, but by the countless lives it continues to inspire.
On the sacred occasion of Kartik Poornima in 1891, Shah Mastana Ji Maharaj incarnated in Kotra, Tehsil Gandhey, Kalat (now in Balochistan), to Shri Pillamal Ji and Mata Tulsa Bai Ji. His birth name was Shri Khemamal Ji.
From childhood, His Holiness displayed profound spiritual inclination and an unwavering desire to realise the Supreme Almighty. This divine quest eventually led Him to Revered Baba Sawan Singh Ji Maharaj. His immense devotion and unconditional love for His spiritual Master earned His Holiness the name ‘Shah Mastana’.
Blessed with the divine command to work for the spiritual emancipation of souls in the Bagad region, His Holiness established Dera Sacha Sauda on the outskirts of Sirsa in April 1948. What began as a humble mud hutment gradually developed into a spiritual centre dedicated to the welfare of humanity.
Teachings That Transformed Hearts and Society
Truth purifies the heart, compassion unites humanity, and devotion brings the soul closer to the Almighty.
Sai Shah Mastana Ji Maharaj lived an exceptionally simple life, despite His divine stature. Through spiritual discourses and His profound teachings, He inspired people to embrace truth, honesty, hard work and selfless love.
He encouraged people to rise above superstition, discrimination and religious divisions, emphasising that all religions lead towards the same Almighty. His message of universal brotherhood continues to hold immense relevance in a world that needs compassion and harmony.
Through the practice of meditation (Naam Shabad), He guided souls towards spiritual awakening and liberation from the cycle of rebirth and death. He also taught people to overcome inner vices such as anger, ego, carnal desires, greed and attachment.
He laid down foundational principles for devotees to follow:
- Refrain from drugs, alcohol and smoking.
- Abstain from non-vegetarian food.
- Maintain faithfulness and sincerity in relationships.
- Earn an honest living and never harm others.
These principles remain central to the spiritual life of Dera Sacha Sauda’s devotees worldwide.
A Divine Legacy That Continues to Flourish
Celebrate the divine occasion not merely with words of gratitude, but by living the values that made it extraordinary.
The spiritual mission initiated by Revered Sai Shah Mastana Ji Maharaj continued through His successors. In April 1960, He entrusted the divine spiritual legacy to Param Pita Shah Satnam Ji Maharaj, who became the second Spiritual Master of Dera Sacha Sauda.
In September 1990, Shah Satnam Ji Maharaj bestowed the spiritual responsibilities upon Saint Dr. Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji Insan, the third Spiritual Master, completing the holy trinity of MSG.
Under the guidance of Revered Saint Dr. MSG, the organisation’s mission of humanitarian service continues to reach people across the world. Its initiatives encompass social welfare, environmental protection, animal care, women’s empowerment, youth upliftment and efforts to combat drug addiction.
From its humble beginnings in 1948 to its continuing humanitarian endeavours, Dera Sacha Sauda has remained committed to one enduring motto: Selfless Service of Humanity.

The most beautiful tribute to a divine Master is to walk the path of truth, strengthen one’s faith and make humanity one’s purpose.
