In India, fifty million people (out of three hundred and sixty million people living below the poverty line, are consistently facing the problem of starvation in which over 32 million children are also affected. When the parents are unable to support the family then children are pushed into working as laborers. From the roadside dhabas to big factories and from hotels to deep mines, at every place children are engaged in labor by coercion. Apart from that India also suffers from the problem of indentured or bonded labor. Child labor is inhuman and Dera Sacha Sauda does not deem it correct. For the education and development of such type of children, school and residential facilities are separately provided in Dera Sacha Sauda. Our effort is that no child should. The country's future can be brightened only if educated and responsible citizens ensure that no child fall victim to malnutrition in the absence of means. Dera Sacha Sauda strongly opposes another major childhood problem i.e. child marriage. It is specially emphasized at the time of marriages taking place in the Ashram that both bride and groom should be legally eligible to marry. The age limit of bride and groom should be legally tenable for the marriage. Both should be major at the time of marriage. In Ru- ba- ru program, these instructions are followed which are helpful in preventing child marriage.
