Dr. Reeta Bedi [Gynecologist], Shah Mastana ji Allopathic Hospital, Dera Sacha Sauda, Sirsa. In the month of January 2011, I suffered from bilateral knee joints pain. The pain was more severe during flexion & extension movements. I consulted my orthopedic doctor, she said- this is the earliest symptom of osteoporosis. I was mildly depressed by thinking that my active life has now finished. My BMD graph was in range of osteopenia. I started using all measures like exercise, walk & calcium supplementation, but pain was not relieved. It became more during sitting, standing & walking upstairs/downstairs. In the month of March, I donated blood first time in presence of huzoor PITA JI (Revered Guru Ji) during monthly blood donation camp. After donating blood, I was very much excited & whole day passed by remembering again & again that beautiful moment when pujya guruji was standing near me & giving me blessings. Next day, I realized that there was no pain in my knees. I recalled that when I went for blood donation I was walking slowly due to pain but after donation there was no pain, although I worked very hard after that as there was heavy OPD due to camp patients. After that day, I never felt pain in knee joints & BMD graph showed normal bone density. A couple of days back, I was getting late for evening majlis. So, I ran with my younger colleague for a long distance. At the end she asked me, " Mam, how can you run so fast at this age" ? I smiled only.......thanks Pitaji for your blessings. Apne charno se hamesha hame jode rakhna.
